TomeLyra Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-09-07

Developer contact: joytilitytech+tomelyrasupport@gmail.com

TomeLyra is designed as a local-first ebook reader and text-to-speech application.

What TomeLyra accesses and stores locally

TomeLyra accesses PDF, EPUB, and MOBI files that you explicitly select; local book metadata including reading position, bookmarks, collections, highlights and notes; custom cover images you explicitly select; downloaded Supertonic 3 model files; locally generated narration; and Google Play entitlement information needed for the optional TomeLyra Full unlock and Free-preview enforcement.

Developer collection and sharing

TomeLyra contains no TomeLyra account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, location access, contacts access, microphone access, or developer-operated cloud-upload service. User-selected book contents, custom covers, annotations, reading history, and locally generated narration are not intentionally transmitted to the TomeLyra developer or sold to advertisers/data brokers.

Google Play Billing

If you choose to buy TomeLyra Full, the purchase is processed by Google Play. TomeLyra queries Google Play for product availability and ownership and acknowledges completed purchases. Google may process purchase, account, and device information under its own privacy terms. TomeLyra does not receive full payment-card details. TomeLyra locally caches entitlement state and per-book Free-preview usage needed to enforce the selected tier.

Network activity and Supertonic setup

On a fresh installation, TomeLyra automatically downloads the Supertonic 3 offline voice model from upstream hosting. This initial setup can use Wi-Fi or mobile data depending on the device connection and settings. The HTTPS request discloses ordinary network metadata, such as IP address and request information, to the hosting provider/CDN. After download, Supertonic synthesis is performed on-device.

Android System TTS

If you select Android System TTS, speech is provided by the TTS engine selected on your device. That provider is separate from TomeLyra and may use its own network services and privacy policy.

Storage, retention and deletion

Library metadata, reading positions, bookmarks, collections, highlights, notes, custom cover copies, settings, model files and narration cache are stored locally in app-private storage. Removing a book from TomeLyra does not delete the original source document. Removing a custom cover deletes TomeLyra's private copy, not the original selected image. You can remove library entries, annotations, covers, caches, models, or uninstall the app.

Backups

TomeLyra's release backup rules exclude app files, databases, shared preferences, and external app data from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. TomeLyra does not operate its own backup server.

Security

TomeLyra relies on Android app sandboxing, the Storage Access Framework, Android's image picker, HTTPS model downloads, SHA-256 model verification, and app-private storage. No software can guarantee absolute security.

Children

TomeLyra is a general-purpose document reader and is not designed to collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact
